cuts off going to neutural

last couple of times out motor will cut off when going to neutural,
but will crank right back up. doesn’t matter if going from foward or reverse. can deal with it but a pain when trying to load.

thanks for info

shift interupt switch causes engine to “stumble” for easier shifting
if engine isnt running on all cylinders at idle (dirty carb etc.) when shift switch stumbles engine, it can shutoff

where is the shift interupt switch located at ?

I don’t think Chris is saying the switch is the problem. I think he is saying that your motor may not be running on all cylinders so that when the switch kicks in and lowers the rpms it is causing it to cut off. It sounds like your switch is doing it’s job and you have some other issue with the motor not running up to speed.

The shift interrupt switch actually kills a cylinder or two for a split second when shifting and if you are already having a miss on a cylinder then your engine “knocks off”

the problem is most likely NOT your shift interupt switch
