What kind of classy play do you call with over 6 minutes left and on the opponents 25 with the 3rd string in? Field goal? Take a knee? Punt?

Is that a serious question?

As hard as it may be for Carolina fans to understand, DW4 still has a legit shot at the Heisman. His stats are just getting padded on the back side of the season as opposed to the front. Any other coach would have allowed him to throw 8 TDs which would have happened early in the 4th.

What should he have done?

Wait for it…

I may be in the minority here, but I have no problem running up the score on another major college program. If they don’t like it they need to stop it. This is big boy football and teams are judged by how they perform each week. A big win over a bowl eligible team is a big win. Just don’t get your feelings hurt when the shoe is on the other foot like Pete Carroll did several years ago when Harbaugh and Stanford ran the score up on him after he had done it for several years to others. Not saying that is going to happen anytime with South Carolina against Clemson, but this is a rivalry game I say score as many as you can or want to.

I couldn’t agree more, but getting the back-ups in some meaningful minutes against a division 1 opponent pays a huge dividend down the road. Experience for those guys is better because you’ve already proved your point.

We all know you are a class guy AP. And no, I certainly won’t get my feelings hurt no matter what the outcome. I will be the first to congratulate in defeat. Clemson has played sloppy in many games, but they seemed to have things together Saturday. Who knows what will happen in the future, but CU fans need to be realistic minus DW4 next year. He deserves much of the credit.

I have agree Andy, when it comes to D1 teams. Just dont call it classy.

So what should he have done on that fourth down?

Still waiting for that one to be teed up!

oh sorry. what most teams do on 4th down. punt or FG, depending of field position. In this case FG.

He was trying to RUN THE CLOCK OUT, DA. A boy that runs a 9.4 40 was able to get a first down of 8 yards who lost his shoe and tripped himself.Yeah, dick move DABO! Thanks for the comic relief on a tough Monday, b8. LOL.

WOW. 6 minutes on the clock on the 25 yrd line…AND you dumb enough to post that he was trying to run the clock out. Seriously dude, it was a dick move.

Keep it coming, b8. You are a Clemson fan’s dream. How much confidence do you think the coaching staff had in a 4th and 8 with a slow 2nd string QB? How much confidence in making a 42 yd. field goal? Kicking the field goal would have been running up the score. Pinning SC inside their 25 would have run out the clock as they were completely inept. Take off the coot colored glasses my friend. Take it like a man, and show some class.

9.4 40 is freaking hilarious!

Read what you wrote. I would think you would have confidence in your backup QB on D1 team. Especially against a team that is “completely inept”

But lets go with you Dabo the saint thought processes for minute. If he wanted to run the clock out…What was the next play? Oh wait it doesnt matter. You can not run the clock out with 6 minutes left inside the 25.

There are no glasses here. I like the game of CFB. I dont care who is playing. I hate seeing games like that. why? Because it is not fun to watch. regardless of who is playing. I also dont like to see coaches make dick moves. See Dabo and Harbaugh.

Inept on offense(SC),DA. If Clemson doesn’t get the first down, then the game is over. SC couldn’t move the ball on Clemson’s scout team. Clemson went for it to KILL THE CLOCK. If you can’t stop a Clemson busted play with Nick S, quit crying. Say congrats and move on. Not much else to say except good luck on the coot’s quest for mediocrity. You are only a few seasons away.
