Dads first Amberjack 11/8

My dad and I left Remleys around 6 and headed straight for the Comanche. Got our 2 man limit of vermillion snapper within minutes. Found a few keeper sea bass mixed in with everything else. Threw back plenty of grunts and other species including porgy and lizardfish. Amberjack were active under the boat all day and finally picked one up. I gave the rod to my dad because he’s been wanting to catch something big. After a steady fight he finally came over the side. 50" fork length, 56 pounds. Seas weren’t too bad. Had a great day on the water and made it home by 4.

Sounds like a great time was had. Good for you getting your dad out there!

Thanks but it’s actually my dads boat. I sold mine and bought a house so he replaced it with something a little better. He takes a lot of pride keeping it up in great condition. Next chance we get we’re gonna run out to the GT hole and explore the ledge.
