as long as the points are longer than a beer can, Every one I’ve seen anywhere crabbing keeps what the catch. Isn’t that what crabbing is all about? I doubt you’ll see any commercial guys keeping any illegal ones. Not worth it.
You would be wrong. I had to stop buying on the water from one particular crabber due to him giving me 3 or 4 shorts in a dozen. He would keep those to sell on the water and thought nothing of it
After being released, a lot of fish die, but a lot of them live also.

Certainly not the first time I’ve been wrong.
You should have called him out on it. He was putting you in jeopardy if you would have been stopped and checked by DNR. Shame to have someone living off our natural resources and knowingly abusing the privilege. That sort of thing didn’t bother me much as a youth, but it really irritates me as I’ve grown older and now see so much traffic on our waterways from all the population increases in our area.
