Daniel Island Creek Fishing

Any recommendation on what bait to use fishing the creeks around Daniel Island? I have been using mud minnows with no luck at all.

Thanks

How have you been fishing them?

“Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”, but really, who cares?

If nothing is eating mud minnows, then there’s nothing around. MM and shrimp get eaten by everything

Boat drinks, Waitress I need 2 more boat drinks!

One rod on top and one rod on the bottom

Work those docks until you find them. When you do, note the tide and temp. Rinse and repeat and you’ll have success.

That’s good advice. There’s a group of docks on the Stono that I haven’t fished in 2 or 3 years, but I could look at a tide table, paddle up and have a fish in the yak in 10 minutes or less.

mud minnows or shrimp are quality baits. I’d be more interested in what leader/hook/weight combo you have been using

1/8 oz jig and a curly tail grub. You will find fish in any creek with that. Then you can go anchor up with bait and try for more once located. I can cover a lot of ground quick instead of anchoring and waiting 15 minutes at very spot or dock I see. Cast, sink, slow retrieved repeat. I put the beating on some fish last sunday in an area I have never fished exactly like this. Good luck

^^ solid advice…but you knew that already.
