I live very close to Daniel Island and a friend was telling me that live bate in those lakes works well for a quick fishing trip. Any thoughts? If so which lake?
I have never fished those, but I would try them in the winter. I think the water in those lakes would be pretty hot.
“In every species of fish I’ve angled for, it is the ones that have got away that thrill me the most, the ones that keep fresh in my memory. So I say it is good to lose fish. If we didn’t, much of the thrill of angling would be gone.” Ray Bergman
While building the condos on DI, we had a guy that would fish the lakes and ponds every day on lunch. I’ve seen fish come out of those ponds that no one would believe including a 5.5 lb flounder and 30"-40" reds. I guess they would go in there at high tide and get trapped. The only one I didn’t see anything caught at was the one on the way to the pier on the right in front of Pierview. The one in front of River Landing has mostly pan fish. That leaves one very visible pond that, if you know the island, you should try.
