Just want to give a heads up to all interested in attending that the Nearshore Shark Seminar that Capt Mike Waller is giving here at the shop has been moved from April 17th to April 24th due to a scheduling conflict with Capt Waller. Sorry for any inconvience and we look forward to doing it on the 24th! Thanks

6pm…You can always keep an eye on the CFC home page under the bulletin of events. Admin always keeps upcoming events on there for us, although not sure if they have made the date change yet but am sure they will very soon. Thanks

Hey Saltfisher. I haven’t been able to catch them this early in the year. What were you using for bait? I love it when the shark bite is on. They are my favorite fall back. They have saved many a day!!!

Dorado, I believe Capt Mike has been using live shrimp lately on them especially the larger shrimp. Blue crab also is highly effective on the bonnetheads.

With the bonnetheads already showing up, there should be a slew of atlantic sharpnose hanging around the inlets as they usually show up in numbers just before the bonnetheads do. Live or cut menhaden is deadly on the sharpnose, but they are oppurtunistic and will take almost any cut or live bait.

Live shrimp on the bottom in deeper water… we couldnt keep lines in the water last Fri on a falling tide.

This seminar is about nearshore sharks… Does that include Tigers, Hammers, Lemons and Bulls?

This particualr seminar is going to cover more of the inshore/inlet/nearshore types…More in-line with bonnetheads, sharpnose, occasional black tips and spinners
