Hit the road Saturday morning to Daytona (or should I say Edgewater)Fla for some trout fishing. Made a dry run of where to meet and off to a great meal at Florida Roadhouse. Recognized my guide at the gas station and spoke to him and we headed to the landing. Told him I was only interested in Big Trouts and he didn’t let me down. What a Birthday gift from my Lovely Daughter. Next time around I’ll be getting with him for Tarpon
Morning start
pumped and ready to do this.
Start catching nice gator trouts and I was excited
Lost a 30+ lb Snook had us wrapped around some piles and we couldn’t net it but we tried for a while until he broke us off. Had an exciting day with gator trouts and everything released. Now at Amelia Island for another fishing trip tomorrow. No she’s not paying for all of this. But I’m having a blast.

One lucky guy! Great family and fishing…how can it get better. I’m showing what your daughter did for your birthday to both of my daughters tomorrow. Maybe the hint will produce a fishing trip for me. Have fun!!
Great birthday gift! Too bad about losing that big snook, but it looks like you had fun anyway.
You made me homesick. I lived in that area for a few years.(85’-90’ from Titusville to Daytona Beach.) Loved it down there.

Fatrat If you want to pm me you can. I don’t know anything ab the tarpon there. I stay in a place that’s right on the water w two beds and was $100/night. They have electric for your trolling motor on dock. Also there’s a restaurant like three docks down that will cook what you catch for cheap. We just ate trout w fries hush puppies there. Great place to go for only being five hours away
