Late post for June 7th. Hit Lake Murray about 6pm. Dropped lines in above the towers with live herring about 30-40ft. Lines weren’t in for 5 minutes when one went down. Handed the rod to my 8 year old angel and with a little help, she nailed her first striper. Way to Go, Lauren!!! After that an huge storm moved in and blew us back into a cove. After waiting for that to pass we went back out to the channel, but they were off by then. All in all a great day.

Great job buddy… I know Lauren had a great time. Let me know when ya’ll are ready to hit’em hard. The NC boys have heard about the fishing… their must be 25 boats from NC at the Dam today. Funny thing is… they are stopping to get live bait because the trolling isn’t catching as many fish. Any of you NC boys reading this… trolling was working 4 months ago, but live bait on down rods is whats on now. Richards got all the live you need on the Lexington side of the Dam just past the swimming hole at a rustic old store called Lake World. You fellas want some of the big fish go ask him how. Check all points from Bomb Island to the towers 30-60 feet deep… just dont forget open water is working too. Trolling should be back on in a week or two. God Bless, Coach B

Went out with my 10 yr. old daughter yesterday with herring and we caught four gars and missed two stripers. I have been using circle hooks for awhile, but am giving them up. I catch a lot more fish with J-hooks. My daughter had a blast pulling in those 3ft. gars on eight pound line! Beautiful day on the water! Matthew that’s a nice fish! I know your daughter must be proud of it!

Hey thanks guys! She did have a blast. Now of course she can accomplish anything so she wants to get down to the coast and try to reel in a shark. Hehehe! We’ll see when we’re down there in July. I’m still trying to get this steering issue worked out so that I can take advantage of this striper bite while it’s still on. Hope to see ya’ll ou there soon!!!
