Well, not as successful as the first trip, but fun just the same. It started with us supposed to be going with a friend in his boat, but that was not to be. Dead battery… So since we were already up, Isobel asked if we could go out in the kayaks again. Okay!
Hit Paradise landing at nearly high tide. Water everywhere, fish no where. I was thinking we would have to work hard for any fish. Isobel had fun paddling in the grass and picking snails off the spartina, while I soaked bait.
Finally the water started moving and we trolled down to the spot we hit last week. One small trout on the way I reeled in, then one more Isobel got to reel in. We spooked a pretty good school behind an oyster mound, so decided to move out front and soak some more bait. One more trout that she got to reel in. Our personal best at just over 21", it may not look it in the pic, but we measured. She reeled it up to the kayak and handed me the pole so she could use the landing net, then she got the boga grips out to hand on to it, and release it.
I believe she is getting hooked!
