Saturday, started out around 8am, end of the falling tide at the Dawho flats. Stayed there for awhile and ended with two decent sized whitings, small bluefish, obligatory sting rays and a large gar! Left there and started working back up the Wadmalaw river heading for a redfish spot that usually produces on the incoming tide. Got there as the water was staring to fill in over the oyster bank and get up into the edge of the grass. In quick succession we had three reds all about the same size, all caught on cut mullet. Unfortunately we lost two of those…one the leader got cut by some shells, the other strangely threw the hook or it pulled out, right at the boat with the net under ready to grab it! Kept the one red. Followed them up into the grass, but couldn’t get them to bite. Headed back to the dock stopping at a couple of spots…but by then the wind had really picked up and thunder clouds were in the area. Not bad a bad day overall.
