Beware of Days Inn. They offer 15% off when booking online. The catch, no cancellations, changes or refunds once it’s booked. There’s been a lot of compaints about this policy. It’s looking like a scam and I’m going to be all over them about it.
I travel alot, spend many nights in Holiday Inn Express hotels. They too often have a “no cancellation” policy with their best online reservation rates, but if you call the hotel directly (not the reservation line) and tell them your plans have changed, you can usually get out of it without any fees. I wonder if Days Inn is the same (although I try to avoid those due to many being poorly managed).
Had reservations August 2008 @ Days Inn made on line. When I got there I had made reservations for a smoking room and not realized it. They allowed me to cancel @ 3PM with no penalty.

You gotta love the South Carolina Lowcountry.
It depends on the individual hotel owner. Most will work with you when you call. They don’t refund anything if you just cancel online.
The upside is that you can get a better deal than the 15% discount a lot of times. A few years ago I picked up a suite for 5 nights in Orlando for $49 / night using the online no cancel and pay in advance option.
There is nothing - absolutely nothing- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. Kenneth Grahame
July 1992, Savannah, GA…the last time I stayed in a Days Inn. Would rather sleep in the car versus Days Inn.
