Anybody seen all the dead crabs all over the landing in N. Charleston by the paper mill. Put in the other day and they were all over the place. Someone must have dumped them there.
shame too cause that appears to be a lot of females…

They have been doing this sh*t for a month now. Reeks like hell…it’s a shame really! I saw one crabber guy doing it 3 weekends ago while I was launching, I didn’t say anything but “(**() that stuff sure stinks up the landing” cause I didn’t want to chance my truck getting messed with or some nonsense… what can ya do really?!

Such a shame and waste! No way to tell for sure, but they all appear to be undersized. I can only guess, but I suspect that someone brought dead crabs back to the dock (iced down?) and measured them at that point. Guessing again, but the perps decided to get rid of them rather than get caught with undersized crabs.

The majority were legal. My guess is they were several days old, not sold and died.

Mostly females…painted nails…
How hard can it be to throw them into the creek vs the landing?

that’s what I was saying…guess females don’t get thrown back as much as we’d like them to…

Saw a bunch of crabs at Greys Hill last weekend like that. ?
I’d guess an unethical crabber culling dead crabs at the landing instead of on the water. That crap really gets me. You’ll also see from time to time people dumping fish carcases that get left high and dry to only stink up the landing before the next tide runs.
If I saw it first hand I’d speak up in a semi polite way. Taking pictures for future reference if needed. DNR can really be a good friend in issues like this.

While that is true, the simple fact that man was the culprit that led to the slaughter and waste the crabs is the issue. If man was not involved many of those crabs would have had babies… We (MAN/WOMAN) are suppose to be the stuarts of the Earth. Many fall very short of that… Even though “nature wastes no protein”. ~~

I’ve seen that all my life and always find it disgusting. If I was a game officer I would call it willful and wanton waste of wildlife. No different than shooting 20 squirrels and throwing them on the ground to rot.
