inshore mammal report…passed a pod of porpoises in the shipping channel 7pm sun and noticed one was belly up. i called uscg to let them know and they asked if we would hold our position until they could come out. during our 45min wait the pod stayed around their fallen mate. no sign of injury but we did not get too close not knowing how angry/aggressive the others would get.
we had to leave as it was getting dark as the uscg was coming accross the harbor. no word from them since.
