We fished Sunday morning and could not help to see 100 or so dead stripers. Some looked over 21 inches so I am guessing it has something to do the the O2 levels and or the temps.
As far as fishing, we boated one 23" and let it live another day. No other bites, could not really mark any schools so I am thinking we should be fishing nights… we fished from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and trolling. Could not see any other boats catch fish either so I am think they might all be dead. We looked for fish near the dam, near the drop around the SCE&G swimming areas, Goat Island, Spence, Bomb Island, Sandy beach… We caught the one fish near Spence Island.
VHF - Anyone uses a specific channel? If so let me know.
Thanks
Pez- yea, lotsa floaters out there. Was wondering if gill maggots or what-too early for thermoline and low o2 levels yet I think…dunno for sure though. I am usually on 68vhf. Tried to troll some yesterday afternoon hoping the stalled front would get them excited-no luck. Fish were scattered at best. Live bait on downrods is where to be from first light til about 9-10am when sun comes up. Might can get an extra hour if cloudy…

I was out yesterday too. My friend was late and since he had the boat, I had to wait for him. We didn’t put in until 8, so we missed out on the best time. only managed 1 small striper, maybe 20 inches, and 2 gar. Caught all on live bait, drifting. We saw at least a dozen belly-up stripers also.

There were 2 striper fishing tournaments this weekend. I imagine that has somethign to do with it.
Coulda been from the tourneys. Did anyone go to the rasta party at sandy beach? I rode out there long enough to get a few whifs of the maryjane and 3 dnr boats sitting right beside me with the binoculors searching out everybody, figured not a good place to be so I left, found a spot 2 miles from there and anchored off for awhile. Looked for some fish on the way but only saw scatterd ones…Heard they (dnr and lex co) had a good haul though

Not sure how reliable this information is… but I was told last week two guys caught 80 Stripers in two days and there were in 80 to 100’ of water. If that is the case than that explains all the dead fish. Only six of those were keepers.
Rasta Party. ■■■■ I missed it. Actually I did not know anything about it. I was there on Sat. hanging out on the ski boat and drinking a few and yes DNR was out there goign over rules with the people on speed boats. Is there a place online you can find out who is playing and when on the lake?

be careful though… i think gold chains and dark tans are a requirement for membership to the forum.
can’t say about the fish. i’m curious to see the results of the tourneys. i heard in passing there were some good numbers put up at the msc tourney.
I was out at the Reggae party saturday on the third row back from the band tied up next to a 27’ Ultra Cat and a 30’ Baja Outlaw. Had a blast! Best party on the lake I’ve been to this year…already looking forward to the next.
I’m planning on going out to Rock 93.5’s Skip day this friday (June 27th). They are leaving Jake’s Landing around 1pm and heading to Bomb Island until around 6 or so. Should be a good time

Epic Failure=When everyday, run of the mill failure just won’t do
Yeah, the 27’ Ultra was blue and white with tribal flames. He has one heck of a stereo system in the boat. Enough speakers to make the water around the boat jump. Very impressive…not sure what motor he has in it. If I remember correctly the Baja had twin 502’s…sounded amazing!
