December 2014 MSC Results

Twenty teams fished. Great turnout for a December tournament with a bad weather forecast. Turned out to not be so bad.

67 fish were brought to the scale with a 6.5# average.

Team Stoneage. Liz and Rick Sineath stole the show with a live weigh in of a two fish creel at 42#. a 27 and a 15 is the way to end the year. Big fish of the tournament, BIG FISH OF THE YEAR and Lady Angler of the tournament. Well done.

Youth angler for December was Daniel Powell.

14 teams weighed in 4 fish, 1 team with 3, 3 teams with 2 fish and 2 teams with a 1 fish creel.

11th pace went to team Rocky Bottom. 18th place to team Justin Alvershire. Small creel was team Hardcore.

In all of the excitement about the December winners we did not recognize BACK TO BACK TEAM OF THE YEAR WINNERS TEAM LANDLOCKED. What an accomplishment! Nice job Richy, Wayne and Joey!

Joby

Nice fish Liz (and Rick). Congrats. And congrats to Team Landlocked on the repeat.

For those that have Facebook … head on over and check out the updated MSC page …

For those that don’t here you go …

Liz brought both fish to the boat …

Both fish can from below the Gap and were caught between 8:00 and 9:00 … after 9:00 we never got another bite …

Both fish were put in our livewell and weighed in live …

Both fish were taken back down below the gap and released …

Despite their ride to and from the scales both fish did EXTREMELY well and kicked off strong after their release …

Everyone really needs to think about protecting these larger fish … With a little bit of care they can be released to live another day … With today’s technology a trophy can be made from pictures and measurements rather than destroying the animal …

Liz’s 1st fish of the day … 27.19 pounds …

Liz’s 2nd fish of the day … 15.23 pounds …

I want to take the time to say how humbled we are by all of this … I know it’s a very big deal to not only catch a 25+ Striper on Murray, but to bring 2 double digit fish live to the scales AND then RELEASE them in good health is awesome …

We never could have done it without all of the knowledge, advice, and encouragement from everyone in and out of the club … I can’t possibly think of everyone who have helped us out over the past year and if I forget a name please take no offense … but to name a few …

Richy, Joby, James, Charles (we owe the November TX to you ), Tom Gitto (you always seem to be able to make Liz smile) Jorge, Shawn, Harold & Debbie, Mike & Pattianne, Spoonmaster (one

One thing that I would like to point out to Joby is that in the tournament results he posted, he has Rick and Liz as weighing in 4 fish. 2 looks way more impressive, not that anyone could forget years from now.

Yep. Fixed it in the model but chose not to have it reposted. Rick caught my error. In my defense we have never had two fish weigh that much. Just kidding, I just keyed the wrong number in.

Hey Rick and Liz… what a weigh in! That would be impressive on any lake, but on Murray, exceptional! Also, putting both of those fish in the boat took a lot of skill. Finding and getting the bite is one thing, but boating fish that size after the bite is another. Great Job!

Congrats Rick and Liz! Beautiful fish and thanks for the effort to Let them go and let them grow…

Team Shad Up & Fish

If you’ve had fun catching fish on the transom bait, you are welcome…

I’ve spent about 85% of my life’s wages on fishing, the rest I just wasted…

We have video of the catch (well, the big one anyways, the GoPro (still kinda broken) malfunctioned and didn’t save the 15# video) and the release …

It may make it’s way out of the “vault” …

A little creative editing and we would never be able to figure out where you were.
