Decent bottom bite

Scraped the ice off my windshield this morning before launching. Took a while to find them, but had a good day, caught my first gag from my own boat at a spot I found myself without a map or anyone giving me numbers. Limit of bsb, some vermillion, the one day maker gag, some triggers, porgies and endangered ars released per safmc :angry: some stout ajs too.

Nice Gag, and you did it the old fashion way, you worked for it:smiley:!

That ocean looks awesome, could have went without seeing that:smiley:.

Yup, the wind was about the calmest I’ve seen it and the fuel gauge showed it too. Fastest and most economical day I’ve ever had thanks to flat seas. My speedometer on the boat may not be accurate, but it usually shows around 25 offshore and it was reading 38-39 when running. Didn’t even back down going through the inlet.

Very nice!

Thanks for the report. How deep?

Fished 45, 65, and 90. Best action in 90

Thanks

I like that old Nissan outboard

Way to go. I’m understanding more and more about the gratification of doing it on your own. I’m thankful that my friends have encouraged me how to fish, rather than just where to fish. And, that’s a pretty gag!

Im glad I wasnt the first wise azz to comment about the motor…#128512;

Haha, I’ve got two of them on the boat and one and a half in the garage just in case. At least I can say I’ve never been stranded out there for the two years I’ve been heading out the jetties. Knock on wood. 1.9 mpg last trip too. Before I owned the boat, that pair of two smokes actually went to 380/226 and back a few times. Just making do with what I’ve got :smiley: one day I’ll have a sweet pair of newfangled four strokes.
