i have the night shift for 7 days starting today so getting off work at 730am perfect timing to stop at the river before going home. seeing a school of 40+ overslot reds in the lights at work and several along the grass and dropoff gave me even more reason to go to a spot where i actually can fish. threw the minnow looking jig again and despite a little bit of frost did ok for a quick trip. missed the first hit, 15" trout shortly after, saw a puppy drum follow but not commit, landed a red that was barely under 23", and missed another decent hit in about 45 mins of fishing. looking over the edge at work im seeing the most reds around mid tide both incoming and outgoing when theres about a foot of water in the grass. theyre either right by the grass or about 15 feet from it where the river drops off…not much in between at all. for those who dont mind a little bit cooler morning theyre definately hitting.
Hey man I’m at NNPTC. Me and some buddys fish over there quite a bit. Had a great day at alpha a few weeks ago but its been slow ever since.
