Decided To Try For Some Pork This Afternoon...

Took a much younger friend Hog Hunting along the Santee River this afternoon. Good thing too, because I would have had a hell of a time getting this big boy out of the woods by myself.

Told him getting that Hog out for me was payback for the Bucks he has killed the past two years while hunting with me…

That looks like a good sized boar. Hope you didn’t have too far to drag it!

We were probably 1/2 mile from my boat, BUT, we carried in my cart and left it 200 yards from where we were hunting. We dragged that thing 30 feet to get him into a more open spot for the picture, and that was hard enough to do.

Hunting buddy says I need to get my eyes recalibrated since I grossly underestimated the weight of this one, before shooting it. I figured he was about 150# before the shot…he was probably right at 200# though.

That’s a nice one. I never do seem to see the pigs on the Santee or pretty much anywhere else in the FM. I always find where they have been but the meetings never seem to exactly materialize. Congratulations.

What’s the caliber of the cannon, you used!

Took us about an hour and a half to get it back to the boat, using a game cart…lots of limbs from the hurricane slowed us down some.
