There are at least 2 ships calling on Dutch Harbor per week.
Depending on what season is open.
The boat I’m on will load anywhere from 125-250 40’ containers (frozen) bound for Asia.
That’s a lot of product Americans won’t see on a menu unless they are overseas. I’ll pick up a box of legs or cheeks to nibble on but pay more in DH than I do from Sellsfish back in Summaville.
I’ll bet some reasearch will turn up most companies operating there are foreign owned and benefit from some wonderful financial breaks…
Stuff on TV only shows the Gringos working, most of the shoreside folks there doing the work are, well, look different than the original Pilgrims.
