Deli with "She Agreed" - 26'6" Saifish

Left Port Royal 3:30 for a pleasant run out to the deli Thursday morning. Crossed a large rip in 150’ with a two degree colder water tempeture break to the offshore side (72 vs 70 )with no weeds, bait, or birds. Passed it over for the next one and never saw anythng special out to 700’. VHS chatter brought us back in to between 250’ and 350’ where we boated 10 dolphin; 6 - 12lbs to 20lbs, 3 - 25lbs to 35lbs, and one just over 40lbs (weights from boat scales). Water temp in that area was between 77.3 and 77.6. Outside that range - no luck! Pulled the lines at 1:30 and at the dock by 4:00. May post pics later. Fish pimarily hit lighter color lures wth ballys but we took two larger fish on larger pink plastic lure way back.
On the way in passed a free jumping sunfish and got a show for a couple of minutes. Lots of sea turtles.

Looking for any comments on the “cold water punch” eddy (SST Chart words) we crossed. Is it normal for this time of year or later? Is it typically fishy or do the fish avoid it for the warmer currents outside?

There were several big dolphin carcasses at the dock yesterday at the cleaning station. Lots of people are doing well on the big dolphin right now. Congrats! A 40lber is a very nice fish. You gotta love May in Charleston.
