Figured I would post some screen shots from this morning. Had 3 man limit in 45 min this morning. Maybe less than that. Pulled up to the ramp at 6am and closed the cooler lid for the last time at 658. Had 4 maybe 5 18-20" fish rest 22"+ up to 28"

Very nice! We found some fish mid morning but nothing like that! Where did you find these or is it a secret location? I’m also guessing that’s the Lowrance 7?
Yes its the HDS7 Gen2. Was trying to get some downscan shots as well but there was just too much going on mess with that.
Hump on Irmo side in as u can see 50-60’ of water. Just got lucky. Had never fished this hump before. My normal spots had kinda cooled off lately so decided to try something different…

One question: why use 83kHz in 50-60’ of water? I just started using the hst-wsbl transducer and I noticed that target separation sucks on 200kHz, but its not real clear on 83kHz either. I used to have the 50/200kHz transducer until it died and had way better looking images with it even at 200kHz. I think im going to order another one and go back to it.
To be honest I play with both settings. I really dont see a huge difference in either one. Basically once I get bored of playing with it for that day, what ever setting it is on it gets left there till I play with it some more. As long as I can read what is down there I really dont mind fine tuning it to get greater detail.
Short answer from me is, it just happened to be on 83 when I took the pic…lol…

I do the same thing, I just liked the old transducer better. Anymore, I just play with the downscan until I like what I see, because the traditional sonar isn’t giving me what i expect to see. Thanks.
Chip, my nephew and I had not even started when you finished… We had several screens like yours, but our pick was very slow on a 70 foot hump. It took us 3 hours, but 9 out of our 10 were nice keepers to around 7 pounds. They were pecking at the bait a lot without taking between 7:30 and 10:30.
