Depth finder

Looking for a depth finder / gps system for my 17 Carolina Skiff to use for deep hole shrimping . Not looking to spend a ton of money , ease of use and reliability are key.

What is your budget? Try craigslist or marketplace. They all can be adjusted to your personal liking. If looking for new, go to west marine and push some buttons on their display models and see what you like.

…well, some fishing too!

I have had 3 Hummingbirds, 3 Lowrance, & 2 Garmin over years & by far I think Garmin is the most user friendly.

Prices have come down a good bit so you can really get some good deals. I have a Garmin 441s and really like it. My only complaint…………I should have bought a bigger screen. There is a lot newer technology and features now and I could get a far bigger/better unit now for about what I paid for my Garmin almost 10 years ago. When/if I ever buy another, it will be the biggest screen that will fit and that I can afford. No one ever complains about a screen too big or a motor too big.

"Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It's Hand", but really, who cares?

Leaning toward the Garmin Striker 7sv…any pros or cons with unit ?

Double check me but I do not think it comes with GPS maps. I think you can marl waypoints & track but no GPS & no way to add it.

Good point drag , that Garmin Stryker does not have maps . Always nice to have that feature especially exploring new areas .

By the way Garmin customer service is great. If you tell them what you want on it they can tell you what units will work.

You probably want one of these maybe. You can change options based on what you want & you budget.
