Detailing an older boat

Hey all,

I’m looking to detail the inside of my little 2002 17’ Seapro CC. What products do you reccomend to try and bring the shine back? I know it won’t look brand new, but would like to make the inside walls/Console/ and rails look better that what they are now.

yes

if you want to make it look brand new, its a 3 step process

  1. 3-m heavy duty rubbing compound, lots of it and a high speed buffer, not the $30 2 handle one from Wal-Mart, the one that looks like a side grinder.
  2. 3-m “Finese-it” polishing compound, same buffer as above, but you have to wash the pad
  3. your choice of quality wax, same buffer, and yes, wash the pad.

we have taken boat that you would have bet money had to be wet sanded and brought them back to high gloss finish using that technique.

IF I RESPOND IN ALL CAPS, ITS NOT ON PURPOSE, AND I AM NOT YELLING

X2 what ChrisV said. I just did that EXACT process on my Sea Pro two weeks ago and it made a huge difference. I added another step in the beginning to take off the water scum line and stains under the boat by using On-Off. Works like a champ. Boat looks a lot younger now. Everyone I talk to, including myself, love the 3 step 3M products.

Bring it to us, we will take care of it for you. After you buy all the materials and tools, you don’t save that much. If not what Chris said. Sometimes a bath with 2000 grit sandpaper gets the surface ready. You must remove the oxidation before you lay down the wax.
