Deveaux Bank

Next time i get the chance im going to head to deveaux and try to catch some tarpon and reds hopefully. But i have a few questions about fishing the surf like that. First, what side of deveaux is best to fish? Ive heard people like the south side fishing a few hours up to high tide but im not sure. Also, when fishing surf like that, what kinds of things do i look for besides bait, birds and fish rolling? I know some people fish the deeper gullies in the sirf for big reds but i dont know how i would find deeper parts of surf like that. Thanks for any advice

Hate it when people say “Have you done a search”, but I have nothing to offer other than that. A bunch of threads show up under a search for “Deveaux Bank”.

Good luck! I’ll be looking for answers as well.

On the north side we had a little luck with whiting, flounder and something jumping and breaking off but couldnt tell if it was tarpon or ladyfish. from the beach it drops off to 10’>25’>40’. Good for tarpon, flatties and whiting.

On the south side
I would recommend anchoring at the point and walking the south side, there are flats and a creek there with lots of bait. Caught 22’’ red and small flounder. anchor up and walk it. It looked like and ideal redfish and flounder hole. Tons of mullet but I bet live shrimp would be key.

let me know if you have luck, Im very interested in the flats and creek on the south side
