Any opinions on this reel? I like the way diawa is moving with the new BG and wondering if this is any better?
I just bought the BG 2500 and it is a great reel. Allan Hawk did a write up them and he rated them very highly. According to Allan they are using some of the same ball bearings in the BG lines which Shimano uses in their Stella and other high end reels. You can’t beat them for $99.00 IMHO.

I have a saltiest bait caster I use for bottom bumping and I love it. 8.3 to1 speed gets the fish up quickly.

Im looking at picking up a couple of the new Daiwa BG reels myself. All of the reviews I read say it has most of the features of the saltist, perhaps a slightly lesser grade of ball bearing if I remember correct.
