Fished half day today…checked around for any sign of shrimp…caught a few very small ones. Caught two turtles and a bucket of glass minnows first cast…Roo didn’t know what to think of the turtles. Big one hid his head…little one hissed at us like a cat:smiley:. Then I started catching tiny little spots size of fifty cent piece…hmmm…yep…felt a little guilty but saved a dozen for bait…and man…the reds tore them up ! I would put a 1/4 piece of frozen shrimp With a little fish on my hook …drop it down and bamm…this happened in three different places…maybe they thought that little fella was eating that shrimp…I don’t know…but just the shrimp was not getting interest like with the fish. Then it was off to catch some whiting…they were biting good out by the beach…but not much size to them. Put a line with a mullet out for shark…little tiny ones not much bigger than the whiting…I think the water needs to warm just a tad more. Lots of jelly balls floating past…time to go chase some spade fish soon for sure. Wish some boaters wold show a little more courtesy for people fishing…but hey…like they say…can’t fix stupid.
. Great day on the water for sure…only thing that ruined it was thinking about the news that daddy lost 2o of his new pots:frowning_face:

Nice fish, I managed to get down Thurs through Sunday but it was a tough weekend of fishing for me… I have a lot to learn about the salt fishing for sure. We ended up with a few trout and a ray and got skunked Saturday. I enjoy reading your post though because I don;t get to fish but a few times a year in Charleston but reading your post makes me feel I’m right there in the boat with you. I love the boat too. That is my dream boat!
thanks. believe it or not the bog boat is a 2003. We’ve taken great care of it and it always gets emptied and washed/dried flushed then put away after each trip.it has made a big difference for sure as it looks almost as good as the day we got it. THe little one we bought off of craigs list a couple years ago…best 1300.00 we ever spent. Have had to do a few things to it…but nothing that made us doubt getting it. next time you are down give pm me…and I’ll try to help if I can in finding some fish

I deffently will do that! I had a local with me but we just couldn’t seem to get on them. I’m addicted to striper fishing (freshwater) and red fishing… Even though I don’t catch many, I love being out on the water.
I’m very jealous of your boats! $1300 was a steal! I’ll be looking for one like that next season.

Carolina diamondback terrapins. When I was a kid and my Daddy caught those they came home for turtle stew. I never liked turtle stew.
