I am in the midst of, and nearly done with, a complete rewire of my 2000 Sea Pro. I have used all Ancor wire (14 ga) and Ancor heat shrink connections with adhesive.
When I was picking up some last supplies the guy behind the counter asked if I had used dielectric grease, and that it would make everything last a lot longer. I have never used the stuff, but I guess he meant that I should use it on the various spade and ring connections where they connect to the switches and terminal blocks?
Can anyone give me advice on where and how to use it?
Much appreciated. Is there anything else I can do to help protect against corrosion of my new rewire?
Certainly not an expert but, I was told by a boat mechanic that it helps to use it at all metal to metal connections. Helps ward off corrosion thus making the electrical connections better(more conductive). I had never heard of it until then.
Just dap a small amount on the blade then connent the spade

Bought a tube at AutoZone and have been using it on all my connections, works great so far, but a tedious job!
A little hassle up front should help down the line though!
