I have been running Pennzoil Premium in my 2003 Yamaha 70 TLRB for the last 6 years or so. Yesterday I went to take advantage of the 40% off coupon I had but Autozone only had the XLF (Extended Life Formula) so I bought it. What is the difference and will it matter if I start running the XLF vs the Premium?
Thanks

I was a diehard Yamalube fan for the first few years of owning the very same motor (just a year older). I gave it up and have been using the XLF for quite a few years myself with good results. Truth is, my motor actually smokes less on the XLF than on the Yamalube. I think the difference between the Premium and XLF is the percentage of synthetic oil per gallon.

Does it hurt your motor to have different kinds running through it? Is this not a good idea to ? I pre mix my own and usually use the same kind but sometimes ill switch it up. Ive never had any problems.
