dinner with clients

If you take clients out to dinner, where do you usually go?

I spend a lot of time in Charleston, nearly every weekend, but never with clients and never with the mindset of where I would take a client to dinner. A coworker will be down there soon and asked me for suggestions of where to take a few of our clients out to eat. I have a few places in mind, but wanted to see what y’all suggest. Low to mid-priced, probably not going to make a reservation. It’ll be mid-week.

If they are out of town, I will usually take clients to Red’s Ice House for quick drink and an appetizer.
I also take some to Basil in Mt Pleasant or The Boathouse at Breach Inlet.

Yes, they are out of town, Augusta, and are staying at the Marriott by Bristol Marina, so I was going to suggest that he take them somewhere downtown or West Ashley. Like Fleet Landing. I forgot about California Dreaming. Not planning on suggesting driving to Sullivans or IOP.

take them to Tratoria Lucca http://luccacharleston.com/ they will be impressed

I took your advice and went this evening with the inlaws and a friend of theirs from out of town. Awesome authentic Italian cuisine and a nice intimate dining experience I wholly did not expect for the price. I have been to much “higher end” establishments and not half as pleased as I was at Lucca. I’m actually not a huge fan of Italian and I’d highly recommend it to anyone and we will be going there again.

I’m going to have to make my own spreadsheet to try to keep track of all the places in Charleston I’ve eaten, to go back to, and to not go back to! Hard to keep so many places straight, especially when you like to try new places a lot.

my wife has been asking where I want to eat for my birthday next week. I had no idea. Then I clicked the Obstinate Daughter link and it seemed like a great choice. Then I saw the Trattoria Lucca link the next day… Decisions, decisions…

I have also been here recently.

Much better than your typical bar food. Also a large selection of beer on draft.

For Greek I like Papa ZuZu’s in Mt P. http://papazuzus.com/ Great food and the owner and all his staff are awesome.
