Dirty Water

Hit a couple of flats north of the IOP last weekend. The water was still really dirty and even though we found a few schools I could not get a taker on the fly. My friend pulled a 11 pounder and a slot red out of one school on frozen shmirp though.

Any suggestions on flies/patterns when the water is dirty would be apprecaited! Hopefully its cleaned up a bit after this cold front.

Going back again tomorrow or Sunday to give it another shot.

copperheads or small spoonflies work well in the summer but, this time a year a black clouser would be less obtrusive and spook fewer.

Try something that has a rattle as well as has some flash in the warmer or hotter colors.
