any advice as to the best path/course to take for a first timer going through the canal from Moultrie to Marion? Any shallow spots or anything else that should be of concern once you get in to Marion? Thanks for any advice you could give. Any good beach or anchor destinations on Marion that would be a good place to swim? 20’CC.
Be careful going into Marion. Trees everywhere, even in 20 feet of water. Stay in the channel and you will be fine. If you leave the channel, take it easy and go slow.
No problem going through the canal, just stay away from the edges since there are trees in the water close to the banks.
Stay in the channel in front of Harrys Fish Camp. There are some islands on the left just past Harrys. We swim at the last one on the left.
