Diving coral heads Sat July 14

Dove in 100ft on Sat. 1st dive vis was great 30 to 40ft the grouper were illusive but the lobster were out and about. I managed to snag a huge lobster under a ledge. turns out about 12.5lbs. 2nd dive the vis was poor but the fish were out and everywhere. As soon as I hit the bottom it was on. I missed the firt grouper and my spear lodged into a rock. I finally managed to free my spear. On the corner of the coral head I saw what I thought to be a giant red snapper. As I came closer I realized it was a monster hog. I shot him as he was rounding the corner. I thought I had missed him at first but noticed my tag line was moving. He went under a ledge and cut my tag line. I was upside down looking under the rocks for my spear and hogfish. I gave up and rounded the ledge and found my buddy Bill holding my spear and hogfish. We managed to get him on the ring and headed up the line.Hogfish weight 22lbs. What a great bottom. I looked like Key West in Charleston. Thanks to a great team Bill, Ken, Mike, Joe and Tommy King-Captain Hook. We had to do surgury in the ocean. Tommy stuck a hook deep in his finger. Thank God we had 2 doctors on the boat. Sorry for the photos the camera must have taken a pounding coming out the shutter was apparently stuck.

Awesome, makes me wish I was still diving.

very nice eats there capt. thanks for the radio call on the viz, it saved our day.

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

That bug is absolutely huge and great going on the hog too, nice job!!!

VERY nice catches, but the shutter on your Sony digital cam needs some help!

the camera is a sealite. the shutter was banged on the rough ride out. I did not realize it was stuck. If you bang the camera it will work itself out. The sun was bright and I could not tell until we got back on land.

I thought my wife might have been out with you guys. She manages to get her little fingers in about every other shot.

Extremely awesome catch Greg!
