Diving with hungry sharks!

Had my son up from Jax for a well deserved weekend off and Jeff said he should not come alone. Headed out on the High Yield with Bernard, Marvin and Realfish01. Viz was 40 to 60’ and the diving was good as it gets.

A good variety of targets today with Lobsters, Slippers, Hogfish, Cubera and Grouper and hungry Sharks! Had a large Nurse Shark take a 30lb Gag away from John and Jeff as John reached for the fish after a battle which included 3 shafts put into the fish! Rude Shark. Divers were very calm even after an 8’Sand Tiger showed up next and they had to poke him in the nose several times to get him to leave them alone. Viz was awesome so they were able to keep their eyes on the Sharks the entire dive. Lots of stories of missed shots with rail guns that shoot high? Jeff said he would put out water filled milk jugs on the bottom of a canal in Fla and practice his shooting before he comes back(much needed)John has a bad habit of being jacked up and shooting to far and tapping the fish in the head just to have them turn around and glare at him, them two are funny team!
Realfish01 and I made our last dive after dark under a full moon. I dove every night for 13 years at the Navy Yard but that was some time ago and it was fun to see the ledges come alive after dark.
Water is still nice with temp 71/69 depending on depth and the best time of year to be in the water. Had a ball and can’t wait to go again!

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

It is no wonder we have so many endangered species in New Jersey. They don’t have a chance to get past Charleston on there way north. I will be there on Sat. this week, lobster better be on the menu. Good job boys, see you soon.
