Heard on the VHF today someone reporting an unmanned center console just driving around in circles in front of Crab Bank. Turns out it was a DNR boat and later we heard that they recovered the driver.
Does anyone know if he is ok? or what happened?

I heard the person is ok. They somehow fell out of the boat without the lanyard to kill switch attached. lucky and embarrassed!!!
I’m glad he is ok. It could have been alot worse for him. I forget the name of the vessel that reported it but it sounds like that person should get a lifetime free fishing license and a 3 inch waiver on fish length.

Totally agree with C17Jack. Lifetime license is in order and at least a 3" reprieve on minimum length.

Imagine that, teach safety and stress the importance of lanyard hooed to kill switch and person but not practiceing it themselves. Listened to a man telling about being thrown from his boat from a dumb move and almost losing his life. Had grandkids in the boat and stepped away from console to grab something that was about to blow out. boat hit a wave and turned throwing him out. He couldn’t swim and boat was circling. One of the young children turned off the switch just in time. A passerby saw them and helped him out of the water. Since then mine is hooked to me one way or the other.
