DNR ponds

I’ve seen some ponds listed by GPS coordinates on the DNR website and would like to know if anyone has fished them. Got a couple picked out already.

Thanks.

Where’d you find the coordinates on their site?

On the DNR website they have a list of ponds that have fishing access on the bank. They also show map coordinates so you can pinpoint it with GPS. Take a look: http://www.dnr.sc.gov/lakes/access.html

Did you ever end up going and checking them out?

I haven’t been out there yet. The weather has been so dang cold, and I don’t much feel like wrasslin’ my kayak with cold hands & wet feet. I would dare say that none of those ponds get much fishing pressure (I could be wrong, though), but some of the ones listed in the Francis Marion forest look like they’d produce some good topwater action come warmer weather.

Have you tried any of these spots this summer?

ClemsonDude71,

I haven’t been able to get out much this summer. I may try to hit some up in early October - if I’m not sitting in a deerstand… I’m also eager to practice up on my fly rod skills to connect with some fall redfish. How 'bout you?
