DNR RULERS

I sold my old boat and purchased a new to me one. Does anyone know where I can find one of those DNR rulers? I used it from crappie to cobia on my old key west.

I think I got mine from walmart.

I’m pretty sure the dnr has them for free if you’re able to make it by when they’re open. If you give them a call I’m sure they’d mail it to you.

Haddrells point. Both stores.

SCDNR in Clemson has them.

I’d rather fish than eat.

Just fyi, we got checked by Mr. Green Jeans today with what we measured as a 14" black drum on my dnr sticker and when he checked it the fish was 13 7/8". We told him it measured 14" on our ruler, so he got on board my boat to verify it. It checked out good by my ruler, so he let it slide and just gave us a warning. He told us that those are not official and will shrink up in the sun. Just be careful and follow the 1/8" over the mark rule and you should be fine. I should have threw it back since it was right on the mark, but I didn’t.

Not sure where you live. Anglers in Moncks Corner carries them. Seen them at the shop on the Mount P. Pier , as well.

We always try to go with the 1 inch bigger rule…ex:BSB 13 inch,we go with 14 or bigger just to be safe…way too much shrinkage on some species…every once in awhile i will have someone on the boat and they will try to question it,been there done that,i would rather be confident when the man pulls me than have any doubt.

Yes the dnr rulers shrink lot. Mine was 3/8" off when I checked it. Walmart sells a Mustad metal ruler for $20 that is the bomb and dead accurate
