you still didnt answer my question. if you had to put a tank of e 10 in your truck would you add a stabilizer?
Don’t mean to double post, but don’t want be caught editing again! Purposeone, do you know how long the fuel at the station has been in the underground tanks? Two weeks or more?
I did answer your? Do you read the posts or just glance over them?
why would you not add stabilizer to your vehicle, even in the event you only put enough in it to get you home?? what if you went on a trip and were forced to use e10 fuel for several tanks. would you add stabilizer under those circumstances?? what about if there are no stations with pure gas and you are forced to use e10. will you add stabilizer to your vehicles then??
So many questions, so little time. Hoppy. you have a point about being able to find pure gas in the future. I’ll let you know whether I use a stabilizer or not, when we reach that dilema. Right now I gotta get outta here and go help my grandmother celebrate her 90th birthday. Seeya my friends, Scott
good avoidance, again
Oh, I’ll be back later! I’m sure your not done with me just yet. Seeya, Scott
happy birthday to granny!
give her a hug for me
Hoppy, I haven’t run my boat since January (been fishing in others bigger vessels). I have 84 gallon sitting in there for 5 months. Used Sta-Bil marine additive AND Star-Tron before re-filling. Do you think I should empty the whole tank or just try it and see before hitting the water this week?

SS - i’m thinking you are ok. i’m also thinking you have a racor. with fuel that old i would first check the bottom of the racor to see whats in there. if it is cloudy or is clear drain the bowl. next, disconnect the fuel line from the engine and squeeze the bulb and pump some fuel into something clean and clear and take a look. then check the racor bowl again. if all looks good i would top off the tank with premium gas and go. if you suspect water, or if it seems “gelly”, or you see suspended particles, then take two asprin and call in the morning. you know the number

FYI-mine sat from feb till may full of fuel 180 gallons only treated with startron,it fired right up and ran fine,we did an overniter and ran 130 gallons thru the motors,no problems…
all things being equal, you should be fine…
“if my boat sat for longer than 2-3 weeks between tanks i would use a stabilizer - EVERY TIME!” Hoppy, your own words have proven my point! Unless you’re following the fuel truck around, or know the delivery schedules in your area. you have no idea how long the fuel has been the “TANKS”. Even then you don’t know how much fresh fuel is being added, or how long the existing fuel has been there. I am informed, therefore I’m opinionated! Seeya, Scott
I’ve used the Startron for the past year and I get a warm and fuzzy feeling every time I start up the 3rd Day. I’ll bet if Billy Mays advertised it everyone would use it!!!

scott - you’re correct. you win.
however - you never answered my last “hypothetical question”. if you’re forced to use e10 in your vehicles will you use a fuel stabilizer? i know you’re one of the blessed few that can still somehow get pure gas and you dont use e10, but pretend for a moment it was all you can get for your vehicle. would you put a fuel treatment in your vehicle tank with e10 fuel??
simple answer please - yes or no
Hang on, I’m trying to figure the “trick” to the question.
Simply, YES
ok. good answer. if basically 100% of americans use e10 and have no issues, why would you feel like you need to use it?
Just because everybody else does it does’nt make it right! Did’nt your mother ever tell you about following all the other kids off the cliff?
yes - and she also told me use my head, have good common sense, and not waste money where it wasnt needed
obviously, your mom never shared the story with you. if she did, you would think this whole ethanol thing through. maybe then you would stop making recommendations to people where you dont know what you’re talking about.
YOU ARE THE ONE WHO STATED YOU’D USE THE FUEL TREATMENT IF GAS SAT IN YOUR TANKS OVER 3 WEEKS!!! Now you’re backing up, because “YOU” nor asnyone else knows how old fuel really is.
