I guess that makes sense sense the Feds assume 40% of the released ARS will die and there for we automatically exceed our annual quota without even having a season. That has to be total BS.

Why?
The Council is considering re-opening reds - to the point to match the “dead discards” . The plan is for either a small limit or a stamp. Of course PEW will be down here threatening law suits and crying that theyre endangered. More to be seen
But I do agree with not reporting ARS catches. Make the council do their work and gather good data.
Good data is easy to come by. Truth is, THEY DONT’T WANT GOOD DATA.
It interferes with their agenda, (whatever that is)
What would be difficult about sending out a post card questionnaire or even set up a online volunteer system to report what we see on the ocean.
I receive questionnaires concerning ducks, deer, and turkey almost every year. I even got one this past year on coyotes and hogs.
If SCDNR can do it you would think NOAA or SAFMC could pull it off…guess not.

No reports of catches, releases, etc…nothing concerning the ARS. It’s bs…We are being screwed. They have been shut down for 10 years in the gulf.
They aren’t shut down to the commercial guys in the gulf. They are now “selling” part of their quota to “sport fishing” guys for extremely high prices. Talk about BS.
