Do you fish around Plum Island?

I’m working on a grant proposal for an oyster reef project off Plum Island (where the Charleston Water System treatment plant is located, near the James Island Connector) and the proposal is due July 2nd. I would be interested to speak with anyone that fishes around that area. If funded, I would like to organize a meeting of anyone interested to discuss the project layout and the oyster reef would potentially be installed in the Spring of 2017. Please contact me if you fish in that area and tell anyone you know that fishes in that area to give me a call. Thank you.
My office phone number is (843) 937-8807 x35.

Just curious why you need a grant? Are you going to build it with something other than recycled oyster shell?
You can just contact the fine folks at SCDNR SCORE and all you need are volunteers, they pretty much do the rest.
Summerville Saltwater Anglers has one in the Ashley R that we have been working on for 4 years.
Not intended to be negative, just want to tell you there is a way to do it for free.

Thanks for the suggestion but I plan to use material other than bagged oyster shell. And I am planning to contract with DNR to help with monitoring the project.

Gotcha!

FYI - the proposal for funding has been canceled.
