DOA Shrimp

Favorite Colors? I think I’m going to buy their Christmas Special and would love to hear some suggestions. Thanks

I like the clear w/ red flake. clear w/ gold flake, near clear, watermelon/halo, and glow.
Here’s one of their specials. It’s a good one!

Mix it up with some trout tricks and your other favorite plastics and I think you’ll have the next few months covered. Looks like some good weather and clean water are coming after this new moon.

I use the 3’’ shrimp almost exclusively for sight fishing reds on spinning tackle. They work!!
I try to keep it simple and use 3 colors: #383 Golden Bream with glow tail (favorite all condition), #440 Morning Glory (best in muddy water or cloudy days), and #309 Glow/Gold Rush (great on bright, sunny days).
A loop knot is almost mandatory, as is letting them sink on slack line, allowing shrimp to sink slowly, in a deadly spiral. 99% bites occur while bait is sinking.

Glow is my default with or without a colored tail (red/chartreuse). Sometimes gold flake or clear. The

I asked the same question a few years ago within another post. Capt. Newman suggested the #383 (golden Bream w/ glow tail). I have done real well with that one since then. Thanks Capt. Newman!

Does anyone have a link to describe the loop knot that Capt Newman recommends?

Many go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.

This may be the same loop knot I use, but I tie it differently. I don’t know if this is the one that Capt. Newman uses, but it should be fine.

Is that also known as a Rapala knot?

I gotta try that loop knot. I think it will even give the trout tricks more action.

Glad to help!!
DOA is practically giving the 3’’ Shrimp away right now. 42 shrimp for $22!! Pretty cheap…
Add $2 more and you can get whatever colors you want.
