Does the boat ramp on Virginia Ave close

Does the boat ramp on Virginia Ave close? The park’s hours (RM Hendricks park) are dawn until dusk i think, but I wasn’t sure if they closed the park in such a way that you might be prohibited from leaving if you didn’t get out of the water until a bit later after the sun started to go down. Anyone have any experience with this ramp?

Not sure if it closes but, given the area, I’m not sure I’d want to leave a vehicle there after dark for too long.

Don’t think the boat ramp closes unless they put up a gate since the last time I was there.They put up the sign so NCPD can run off any derelicts or dopeaddicts that may be hanging out,which is better for your truck and trailer.Does anyone remember the small pond with the gator that used to be there?We always called that place gator park.The local high school kids would hang out there ,drinking and fighting,glad they shut it down.Cost me some bail money ,back in the day ,should have let em sit in jail but momma wasn’t havin that haha.

There is a gate there, but it doesn’t appear to be something that someone regularly comes and locks. As an update — we were able to pull out of there a little after 6pm last night when the sun was completely down, and we had no problems getting out of there. As sman said, that sign is probably up there just to allow for enforcement.

I leave from there all of the time after dark. And have ever since they closed down the NCFC and I had to start using that ramp. They never close that gate.

. I was a member of NCFC also, I wonder if Varner’s liquor store is still open,that’s where we paid dues and received keys.No decent landings on the Cooper anymore.
