I started taking care of this dog about 4 months ago. He belongs to an elderly lady that lives nearby. She had to go to the hospital and then was in rehab for awhile before she could come home. He looked pretty rough, no hair on his tail and a a lot missing on his back and covered up with fleas. She is back home now but I have continued to take care of the dog because I just don’t think she is capable of doing it.
The flea situation has been taken care of and he is being fed good and regularly so he’s looking a lot better now. He can drag me around pretty good when I take him for a walk.
OK…I’m finally getting to the question…
What breed of dog is he ? I’m sure he’s a mixture of some sort. He’s very good natured and not aggressive at all. He doesn’t really bark. If he wants your attention, he howls like a hound dog. When I walk him, that nose is either in the air sniffing or to the ground.
I had no idea he was in that bad of shape or I would have started sooner. The lady asked me the other day If I would take him if something happened to her. I told her that I would and that she doesn’t have to worry about Buddy going to the pound.
He does have webbed toes ! To me, the picture makes him look smaller than he really is. If I measure from his nose to where his tail begins, it’s 38 inches. He’s 24 inches measuring from the ground to the top of his back near the middle. My wife and I have looked at a lot of dog pictures online. I always say he’s got Lab in him and she always says there’s hound dog in there too.
