ok my curiosity is piqued… so I looked up how to target dogfish. bottom rig or carolina with cut bait at night… sounds cold!

Are the dogfish around here spiny + tooth-ed or are they the smooth ones?

the ones i’ve caught are the spiny ones.we catch them during the day.

Ive caught them at dusk. One after another in the north edisto. Squid and shrimp on bottom. Dont eat but fun to catch.

We do have the smooth dogfish as well… I’ve caught lots of both. Used some of the larger ones to land much bigger sharks from the surf as well. They are good to eat too.
