At 12 decided to go back to some bottom i marked while trolling . Was it loaded got 5 pinkys ,4 undersize gags,16 to 17inch sea bass10 to 15lost count,6 ambers ,1 25lb cobia,one huge white grunt and i free gaffed big amber jack swimming in scoolaround boat they didnt think I could do it:sunglasses:.We caugth all this in a 3mile area we took a wild chance at because plan a was shot. sounds like we did alrigth from the other reports . bug catcher got message relayed to us you called from or buddy boat .

wow sounds like you had a fantastic day despite the engine problem. im new to offshore fishing and am curious as to what you use for bait to do the bottom fishing you did to catch such a wide range?
Squid for beeliners, live sardines or pin fish for groupers, amber jacks . live bait for cobia on surface, and cut bait on the bottom for almost any of the above keep switching baits till you find what they want.

Yes, Mike was on board. I talked him into going on this trip after much persuasion. I felt really bad when the engine starting acting up after going out about 22nm. Made the decision to go ahead and make the best of it for awhile before heading back in. Motor kept running smooth, but wouldn’t quite get up to full RPM’s. Had a great day catching a large varity of fish. Ended up a great day. Got a few lessons from Mike on flying the anchor. I need to get out there with you some time. He says you the “master” at anchoring exactly where you want , when you want. That would be a skill I would definately want to learn.
Those corydolpmahiado fish are starting to get in close. Good job. I noticed fliers in 100 2 weeks ago.
