Fishin’ Physician fished near Winyah Scarp and the Capt Pete hole.
We left the dock after 7:00 am because we were going kingfishing in preparation for upcoming Jolly Mon tourney. Needless to say, we could not stand to waste the pretty flat ocean. So Rube, York, and me, Kendall decided to go to the Blue water. Glad we did.
After double digits of Dolphin before noon, we headed to deeper water.
A Blue Marlin screamed one of the Tiagra 30Wides pulling a big plastic Marlin lure. He jumped one time. After getting him to the boat, we saw that he was foul hooked. Never have seen that even on TV. Rube dehooked him and we revived him for several minutes. It was good to see him swim off. He was a small blue, less than 75 pounds but he was a Blue Marlin and that was what we were after.
Great day in the ocean and we were gasing up at 5:00 pm. Grilled dolphin, today’s catch was on the supper table for a short time before it was inhaled. We missed a 35 pound dolphin due to gaffing gaffes. But that’s OK, we had plenty of meat.
