Dolphin in 102'

So I’m drifting over live bottom in 102’, hoping to find some new bottom spots and/or entice a Cobia. Pitched a menhaden out on a free-line, see the bright blue streak coming up, and a gaffer inhales it.

Have heard others talk about catching dolphin shallow, but I think this was the shallowest I’ve caught one.

I’ve also caught them in 60’ in the late summer months. I’ve caught them in 20’ in the Keys.

Caught 3 gaffers a couple miles inshore of the Edisto 60 when I was a kid 20 or so years ago.

Just as rippy and fishy in 90-120 yesterday as on the ledge. Not at all surprised to hear

Caught one in 80’ this morning.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Caught four slinger mahi (the two larger where about 10lb each) Saturday in 95’. A live menhaden fished under a cajun thunder behind the boat a bit was the hot ticket.
