When will it start? Seems last year it was over before it really started. Does anyone follow Fla/Ga fishing reports to see if they are headed our way?
Thanks in advance.

“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”
I am the one who asked this question earlier this week. What I am wondering is if the weather cooperates, would a run to the Gulf Stream give us a chance at dolphin? I assume that it is too early for Edisto Banks, Southwest Banks, etc to produce mahi.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

The Ono bite is on fire.
April 1 about 10 years ago we whacked them. A few years ago we caught a dozen the last week of march. That’s about as early as it get for the dolphins I guess.
Saturday we ran over 75 miles just to turn back. Warm water wasn’t there where the sat said it was out past 226/380. Should of stayed in the ledge and high speed trolled. Water temp out there was colder than the ledge at 78.5.

ha ha. I was gonna say “You found 78 degree water?!”
We found the same 68.5 temp last week as well all the way from the ledge to 650 feet. Never found a temp break.

I just spoke with a guy I know out of Daytona and he said the colder weather pushed the fish back South. They were starting to come up but he thinks the cold front and colder water moved them out again.
It may be the colder weather just pushed the timing a bit farther out.

They are not catching much in Florida right now. Just got back from swordfishing the other week. Still lot of fish in the Bahamas they been catching good numbers.
Just reel or get broke
