No, not the guy who wears the band’s t-shirt to the show.

This guy:
I wanted to fish the Denny Ford Tourney on Saturday, but had to work the weekend. The little angel on my shoulder looked outside yesterday and said “don’t be that guy”… but then the other shoulder weighed in and I hitched up and headed out into solid 20 from the North with gusts at 30. Tide was ripping, bite was slow, hard to feel anything with the line jumping around in the wind… but when I felt a bite and found a crushed crab still on the hook, I put it back down and got him on the next drop. tough fight in the current, almost cut me off three times- a little hectic palming the drag (first fish, hadn’t tested it yet) and finding the net with the other hand!
Ended up being out for 2 hours, and only got 2 hookups- the other was a 17" that went in the cooler too. This one was pushing 23", haven’t weighed it but I’m pretty certain it would have fallen in nicely between Mr. Humbert’s 2 fish on the board Saturday. Both fish caught mid-dropping tide in 6-8’, owner #1 cutting point and 20# fluoro.
So I was a couple days late and $200 short, but we’ve got dinner for the week and I got the solitude that I needed… and as a bonus, there were no bugs, no crowds, and I didn’t sweat a bit!
