We read on here all the time where someone has fishing equiptment stolen all the time. Don’t create a situation where you make yourself a victim. I say this because my son and myself went to the Lonnie Hamilton (Leeds Ave) boat ramp beacuse we needed some bait for our Sunday evening catfishing trip. When we arrived, there was a newer Chevorlet Pick-up with the tailgate down. Inside the bed in plain view was two nice rod/reel (maybe Penn)combos with nice new flourecent pink floats just begging to be stolen.
We went down to the dock to throw the castnet a few times, hoping that someone was nearby and was in the process of loading either the truck or the boat and didn’t have enough hands to carry everything. When we returned to our truck about 30 minutes later, the rods were still there. I shut their tailgate as I walked by at least hoping to hide them from anyone up to no good and hope it worked. Hopefully this person returned from a day on the water to find their rods still in their truck.
Thieves do a good job stealing from hard working people on their own, lets not help them.
